Make yourself fit for everday life and enjoy the countless possibilities for individual relaxation and sports.
The flexible holiday programme "Hiking Light" is a particularly attractive, varied, and family-friendly concept: "BergAktiv" ("Active Mountain") is the name of the vitality programm for people of all ages, for beginners and pros, for athletes as well as for relaxed nature lovers. "GenussAktiv" ("Active Enjoyment") is directed specifically at all human senses and enables you to experience the mountains in an easly and relaxed way.
The climbing trail across the Gerlossteinwand provides mountaineering highlights.
Via Verrata "Talbach" in proximity (about 5 min. walk) for families with children and for beginners (various sectors!).
In particular, people in the Zillertal Arena have paid special attention to the desires of our "little guests". There are exciting and varied children's programmes in Zell and Gerlos. The Leisure Park Zell and the Arena Coaster - the first Alpine coaster in the Zillertal - provide an extra portion of fun.
In adddition, the numerous festivals and events with performances by popular Zillertal music bands provide a very special atmosphere.
Come and explore a magic realm of discovery – on the Rosenalm in Zell am Ziller. Every childhood is a time of wonder and enchantment. In the Spruce Tree Castle children and their families, together with the little Spruce Sprites, can discover that magic again. A long, long time ago the busy little Spruce Sprites came to the Rosenalm pastures and set to work to create a grand castle and grounds for the Prince and his wife, who planned to come and live in the mountains. Guests, both children and ‘kids at heart’, can now enjoy a world of fun and adventure clambering on the climbing tower, sliding down the tower chute and ‘working’ in the crane tower. The breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains is best enjoyed from the 18 metre-high viewing tower. In addition to a vast water-play area and an adventure playground, budding little builders can carry on the work of the Spruce Sprites in the builders’ hut and crane. There are also numerous idyllic spots in which to rest, relax and unwind, making a summer holiday in the Zillertal Arena even more enjoyable!

Cycling and Mountain Biking
For many it's become the ultimate holiday experience: to reach new heights on the bike and experience the adventure on routed forest trails and special nature trails. Enjoying the forest, the mountain, all of nature, in a very individual way - everybody according to their own speed, uphill with dedication and power, downhill with passion.
Maybe it is exciting mountain biking that makes your heart beat faster, or perhaps you prefer quiet, flat trails on the valley bottom - there are nearly no limits to your desire for action, sport, and nature. After all, the Zillertal Arena lives up to its other name, "Bike Arena"! Over 232 km of mountain-bike trails of all difficulty levels invite you to have fun on the bike.
The "Bike Ticket Zell-Gerlos" includes an ascent in Zell and a descent in Gerlos, or vice versa.
Free bike transport by cable car up to 1,800 m altitude, so you can "cruise" above the clouds!
Bike rental at the train stations or in the sport shops
The new Single Trail in the Zillertal. The Zillertal Arena can offer yet another attraction! Whether you’re a part-time mountain biker with a taste for adventure or an experienced pro, the all-new Singletrail Wiesenalm RideAble Project offers excitement at its very finest. The 5.2-km-long trail's design not only means it's perfect for sports-mad beginners, it also offers a wide new experience for bikers who are already familiar with the scene. The trail's numerous serpentines, northshore elements, and pumps will demand that riders test their levels of skill from start to finish!
Beautifully landscaped via ferrata – right next to the Talbach Waterfall! The climbing route is designed so that the difficulty level increases on the way up. The easy entry area is ideal for beginners and children. The difficulty rating slowly increases in the lower section – training obstacle course – from A to D/E – perfect for exploring your limits. Emergency exits leading to the adjacent path are located after every increase in difficulty. The main section is suitable for advanced via ferrata climbers. Two long rope bridges form a real highlight, the second of which ends directly above the reservoir’s outflow, which turns into a thundering waterfall in spring or after heavy rain. The via ferrata is well secured with brackets and steel cable.
The 380 meter long fixed-rope climbing route, "Gerlossteinwand", leads along a 240 meter high wall on the same-named mountain. It doesn't only offer Alpine pleasures, but also leads to one of the valley's most beautiful peaks. Introductory trial climbs for beginners are offered on the new route, categorized as medium difficult, which was constructed by the local mountain rescue team, in cooperation with the Zillertal Arena. The local alpine sports schools provide expert tips and accompany beginners on the climb, which can be comfortably reached with the Gerlosstein cable car.
Equipment: Climbing harnesses can be hired at the Climbing Shop Zillertal in Zell am Ziller, Gerlosstraße 16 (Phone: +43 676 4003511 or Email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
